  • HR Transactional Team Leader

    Salary range: £32,910 to £35,745p.a. (pay award pending)

    Full time (37 hours) temporary until 31.03.2023

    Closing date: 16 August 2021

    We have a number of exciting opportunities to join our expanding HR & OD team in the vibrant city of Norwich. In this key operational role, you will support Norwich City Council, and its wholly owned company Norwich City Services Ltd, build on their successes and ambitions and address the challenges faced, to drive our long-term shared vision for the city.

    We are looking for an experienced HR professional with a track record in leading excellent HR customer service and ensuring best practice is embedded in the processing of all HR transactions and first line HR advice on pay, terms and conditions and recruitment administration

    You will lead a small and dedicated team to improve and develop the HR transactional function and processes. The team will be the first point of contact for our customers, supporting managers and employees in all aspects of first line HR advice and process whilst maximising the use of technological solutions to enhance the HR offer within a complex organisation.

    With a sharp attention to detail and experience of delivering high quality transactional service in a fast-paced environment, you will have experience of harnessing technology to inspire better performance, ensure compliance, and deliver an exceptional customer service, working with the wider HR team to improve our processes and deliver efficient and effective ways of working.

    To make an impact in this role you will need experience of providing reliable and consistent advice on HR policies and procedures, be successful at developing good working relationships, and have an awareness of employment legislation.

  • HR & OD Business Partner 

    Salary range: £40,876 to £43,857p.a. (pay award pending)

    Positions available: 2.6 fte permanent and 0.5 fte temporary until April 2022

    We have a number of exciting opportunities to join our expanding HR & OD team in the vibrant city of Norwich. As a strategic member of the team, you will support Norwich City Council, and its wholly owned company Norwich City Services Ltd, build on their successes and ambitions and address the challenges faced, to drive our long-term shared vision for the city.

    Responsible for ensuring the delivery of a focused transformational HR service, you will work in partnership with your directorate and managers to shape and deliver effective people strategies which build people capability and support delivery of strategic initiatives, plans and priorities. You will help to create a culture and people approach that delivers excellent engagement and performance.

    As the people expert for your area, you will provide advice and support on the full spectrum of employment issues, deal with complex casework and support organisational design, culture, and change.

    You’ll become part of our friendly HR Team and will be actively encouraged to explore new ideas and use your expertise to implement fresh approaches and solutions and will have opportunities to get involved with projects, that cut across organisational boundaries, to deliver better outcomes and make a difference.

    CIPD/degree qualified or with an equivalent level of experience and transferable skills, you will have practical working knowledge of current HR practices, UK employment law and a keen interest in keeping up to date with legislative changes.

    Your skills in building effective relationships and ability to influence a range of stakeholders are key to success in this post. Able to champion change and innovation through people, processes, practice, and systems you will also be skilled in challenging others to innovate and think differently and will be adept at using data and evidence to inform and drive decision making.
